“You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” – Abraham Lincoln

Happy President’s Day, Everyone! We tend to forget the meaning of these holidays that come around this time of year and for some it’s just a great excuse to have a three-day weekend and catch some retail sales! I figure for today’s Monday Motivation, I chose a quote from a former President who stood up for what he believed was right for America to change, Abraham Lincoln.

There were people in my life that I’ve come across that I felt always got away with every ‘pickle’ they got themselves into – as if they were a cat with nine lives. But to get out these situations, they hurt a lot of people on the way with lies and fooling them to think a diversion from the truth. From experience, I know that they can’t fool everyone. Just as President Lincoln said, you can fool some and all but can not fool people all the time. Eventually, when people try to fool others from the truth, the truth becomes hazy and the lie becomes greater. These are the people that you DON’T need your life. On the flip side, if you are living a facade then know that it won’t last. You’ll start becoming a different person to just cover up the lies. Is that the type of people you want to be around? Is that the type of person you want to be?

Let’s take it back to what our parents taught us in elementary school:
1) Stay true to yourself.
2) Find the courage to stand up for what’s right and what you believe, even if you’re standing alone.
3) Lies only lead to other lies and then more lies, so tell the truth. Lies are just acts of selfishness.
4) Be fair to others. They may not necessarily be fair to you, but you know your conscience is clear.

Enjoy the week everyone!
