Warm weather is here and your toes want to come out to play so store away those boots and slip into some wedges. I’m partial to wedges, though they are probably the most comfortable type of heeled shoe to wear. Wedges fall closely to platforms so I despise chunky wedges! God’s gift to me was to be a tall 5′ footer (yes, that’s 5’0″ no shorter or taller), so platform type wedges tend to make the leg look shorter, not longer  and not mention that it gives you the “I’m trying too hard to be tall” look.

Through the years I’ve chosen wedges wisely. No chunky platform. No flat platform wedges (they look like a flip-flop with soles 3 inches or more thick). No chunky platform with skinny (skin piercing) straps (they just not proportioned!). Lastly, no tie-around straps wrapping up my leg. I’m not saying you can’t wear them but be cautious of how wedges make your entire silhouette looks. Flaunt it if you can rock it!

Below are some of my favorites and some already have made it into my closet. I’ve chosen most of these wedges because their ankle straps are thin so it doesn’t distract the lines from foot to shin to calf. All these wedges have a thicker heel and thinner toe platform, which I prefer since it clearly shows that they are wedges but not a chunky platform. Everyone has their preferences so hope you find your perfect wedge!
