A year from now you will wish you had started today. – Karen Lamb
Where did 2012 go?! I feel like this year has completely flown by! There’s only 26 more days of the year!
I always take moments every now and then to ask myself, “What was I doing this time last year?” This simple question makes me quickly reflect on not just where I psychically was but WHAT was I doing? Am I at a better place than I was last year? What have I accomplished or changed in my life that makes me a better person from the year prior? How are my relationships with my family, friends, partner, and co-workers? Most importantly, how is my relationship with my own self?
These quick self reflections throughout the year are just a constant reminder and push to be better a person daily. Truth be told, I am a procrastinator (with the exception of work and truly important tasks) . I get overly zealous on an idea and for whatever reason (usually after some research), I decide not to execute. As I store away the idea, I visit it again months later and somehow manage to feel guilty that I should have started it when I had thought of it initially!
Today’s midweek motivation isn’t just following through with ideas and goals but merely just executing our thoughts regardless of the outlook. Should you rekindle old relationships, get over our past, make amends with our enemies, start projects we’re destined to do, go the places you’ve always wanted to go or whatever it may be, just start.
You shouldn’t live your life saying, “I should have done this years ago…” but rather “I did that…”! Life isn’t going to wait because there are millions of people in the world that chose to do something TODAY! Don’t fall behind!
Keep warm and have a great week!
