“Your journey has molded you for a greater good, and it was exactly what you needed it to be. Don’t think that you’ve lost time. It took each and every situation you have encountered to bring you to the now. And now is right on time.” – Asha Tyson

As I look back at the past few years, there isn’t a time that I can pinpoint a gut wrenching feeling of regret. Of course there are those nights I wish I didn’t take that extra tequila shot, wear that oh-I-look-so-hot outfit that turned out to be not (note to self: tell my best friend to delete/burn those photos) and those poorly chosen words that I wish I didn’t say to someone. However, there are those times I should have been wiser about certain situations but like a moth to a flame, I was drawn to the risk – not all risks are wrong as not all ‘safe decisions’ are always favorable. Experience is never lost time.

So…a little over two weeks ago I made my official move back to Sunny California from the Big Apple! Though it came as a surprise to most – it was a really hard decision! I love New York and for everything it has changed me to be but you can only take away the beaches, the sun, the impeccable weather and most importantly the company of those I love and those that love me for so long…or maybe it’s just the comfort. Nonetheless, I am GRATEFUL for my NY experiences: the love, the growth, the wisdom, the truth and the thicker skin! I made it there, I can make it anywhere!

In the seemingly short two years in New York, I’ve survived 8 full-spectrum of seasons, Hurricane Sandy, the late nights of endless entertainment in the city that never sleeps to only haul my butt into the intense Wall Street ‘corporate world’ by dawn to build an amazing team. I’ve designed and implemented effective & successful procedures professionally and personally. I created this blog and experienced fashion shows, music album releases, Broadway shows & multiple networking events, ate at delicious 5-star restaurants, and built friendships and a relationship. Being one of nearly 8.2 million people within 5 boroughs, it forced me to be my own best company so the most important experience  I’ve taken from being in New York is strengthening the relationship I have with myself and my worth.

With new chapters ahead of me means a new focus and a new direction – not just personally but for this blog. I want to use this page as a platform to not only empower myself with expressing my own experiences but to empower others to live a better version of themselves each day. It no longer is just a showcase for fashion, accessories, shoes and the exterior appearances of a person but to showcase the inner person. A personal exterior beauty is meaningless if the inner beauty is empty and hollow.

So for my readers out there, thank you for reading along my little journey through life and hope that the words written here can be applied to your daily lives!

Where we are now, is where we should be. Simply put, learn to ACCEPT THE NOW.
